  • ​Fostering A Love Of Music: One of our main goals at PVS is to share our love of music with our students. Classical training opens the doors to understanding and appreciating many styles of music. PVS students fall in love with music.
Wonderful teachers with a wealth of experience and knowledge working with young children following the Suzuki method. Our daughter is doing so well in this environment and we are very happy with her progress. Most importantly she is having a great time and just today played in her second little concert. Would highly recommend.

I attended the Perth Violin Studio’s first concert on Sunday in Floreat and it did not disappoint. It was steeped in cuteness, with each child dressed in their best outfits performing their first bow or their best twinkle rhythm. It showcased the talent and hard work more advanced kids had put into reaching each new piece. We enjoyed traditional Dr Suzuki repertoire, Go Tell Aunt Rhody, The Two Grenadiers, Boccherini Minuet and movements from an Eccles Sonata.
The concert was beautifully presented by the teachers, and each child was well prepared and played to memory with pianist - Caroline Badnall.
I highly recommend this studio to parents in Perth contemplating violin lessons for their young children.

Will is a fantastic violin teacher. He is very patient, has a calm and kind energy that helps to bring out more positive attitudes from my daughter comparing to when she was with her previous teacher. Will encouraged my daughter to write a journal for her practice, that helped to form a habit of regular home practice. Highly recommended!

William Huxtable - Teacher

William Huxtable was born in Perth and began learning violin at age 3. His first teachers were Suzuki Violin Method teachers Amanda Dryborough and Jasmine Trebse. For his tertiary studies he was a student of Paul Wright at the University of Western Australia and Dr Robin Wilson at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) where he completed the Professional Performance Program.

Whilst studying at ANAM he was a founding member of the Partridge String Quartet (PSQ). As part of PSQ he performed at the Musica Viva Festival in Sydney, the BANFF Centre for Arts and Creativity, the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival and the Canberra International Music Festival. PSQ were also winners of the ANAM Chamber Music Competition and the inaugural Queensland International Chamber Music Competition. In 2020 they were selected as part of Musica Viva’s FutureMakers Program.

In 2018 William toured with the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) in a side-by-side collaboration as an ANAM musician. In 2019 he was part of the ‘Emerging Artists’ Program of the ACO where he toured and performed with ACO musicians and was mentored by violinist Glenn Christensen. In 2021 he also performed with the Australian World Orchestra for their 10th Anniversary Season.

William now plays in the West Australian Symphony Orchestra as a Tutti Violin.

William plays on a 2020 violin made by Robert König and Michael Betcher. It is modeled on the 1713 ‘Sancy’ Stradivarius once owned by Ivry Gitlis.

Caitlin Gray - Teacher

Caitlin, a Perth native, commenced her musical journey with the violin at the age of 6. Under the guidance of teachers such as Marina Phillips, Amelia Peachment, Meredith Cadd, Amanda Drybrough, and Jasmine Trebse, she laid the foundation for a distinguished career.

Recipient of a music scholarship to St Mary's Anglican Girls' School, Caitlin earned recognition as one of Western Australia's top music performance students, securing a Performing Arts Perspectives prize upon graduation.

Furthering her education at the West Australian Academy for Performing Arts under Peter Tanfield, Caitlin graduated with honors and refined her skills under the mentorship of Paul Wright. During her tertiary studies, she actively participated in Australian Youth Orchestra programs alongside the country's top young orchestral musicians.

Caitlin's performance career extends across Australia and New Zealand, collaborating with ensembles such as The Fremantle Chamber Orchestra, Perth Symphony Orchestra, WA Ballet Orchestra, Australian International Opera Company, and Dunedin Symphony Orchestra.

Since commencing her teaching career in 2009, Caitlin has embraced the Suzuki method, imparting her expertise to hundreds of students in private studios located in Perth, Wellington (NZ), and Dunedin (NZ), as well as contributing to various schools and music programs.

Caitlin's students have achieved notable accomplishments in eisteddfods, exams, Suzuki graduations, auditions, and secured scholarships to Perth's elite private schools. 

Caitlin plays on an Arthur Richardson, made 1928 in England.
